darkness closing in
Like an animal encroaching upon it's prey
The scent of death slowly filling the air
Each breath a grasp for the light of day
As the promise of demise fills blackened lungs
Breathe deeper and embrace the end
A false promise to the god of despair
It comes as a malevolent thief in the dark of night
Luring the damned who down in prayer
Building upon dead promises
Above this decaying foundation of hope
Icy clutch of doom lingering in the shadows
Death's spiral, the weary travelers homeward slope
Trials overtake false joy
Painted smiles becoming impossible to forge
Each moment a step closer to eternity
A warning upon which deaf ears will gorge
Death is near
A false promise to the god of broken dreams
Release your mind and let the hate descend
Silent screams of agony
Watch your final fate embraced by death
As hope ignites your demise
Bleeding earth drowned in enraptured cries
Luring the damned who down in prayer
Brandished from a putrid blackened tongue
King of the hopeless souls
Now bow and worship your death
Your rotten prayers will bring you pain
The limit has been exceeded
All that is left now is to endure
So close to an idyllic fantasy
Crafted from a twisted, dark mind seeking a cure
Death is near
Death once a feared mistress
Now calls with a sweetened embrace
A bloody promise to end such bitter pain
She leaves no other trace
darkness closing in
Like an animal encroaching upon it's prey
The scent of death slowly filling the air
Each breath a grasp for the light of day
Mental Cruelty's third album has brought a surprise of musical change. While they kept some of their Slamming Deathcore music, other elements were mostly added that sounded Lorna Shore-esque: a haunting symphonic atmosphere and diabolical Black Metal melodies. I believe that this album attracts me more than their previous albums. the-cool-fox
Blackened Deathcore, something I never thought I'd be into.... but God, is the subgenre killing these past few years. Worm shepherd brings so much of the Blackened elements to the table. This album is killer and brutal as sin. highly recommended. Abyssius Murkraken
I am more a melodeath guy than deathcore, but I enjoy all the symphonic elements or rythym changes. This album is a BLAST omg my neck hurt, so much headbang🤘🤘 olive855
